HISTORY

The Chang International Circuit (ช้าง อินเตอร์เนชั่นแนล เซอร์กิต) (also known as Buriram International Circuit because of alcohol restrictions) is a motorsport race track in Buriram, Buriram Province, Thailand. Located around 410km northeast from the country’s capital of Bangkok, the town of Buriram in the Buriram province literally translates into “city of happiness”, and its typically hot and humid weather is a key feature of its Southeast Asian location.

The circuit, the first FIA Grade 1 and FIM Grade A circuit in Thailand, was opened in 2014 and the 4.554km layout incorporates 12 turns. Its state-of-the-art facilities, include a total capacity for 100,000 people with various grandstands around the circuit providing incredible viewing opportunities for spectators. The track's primary corporate sponsor is Chang Beer, named the track as part of the sponsorship. 2018 marked the first year MotoGP™ made its way to the Chang International Circuit. With only two editions in 2018 and 2019, the MotoGP™ championship will make a stop in Buriram for the third time.
