#EmiliaRomagnaGP - September 21, 2024

The Moto3™ class once again opened the ball of a busy Saturday at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli with Daniel Holgado and Jacob Roulstone contesting the 14th qualifying of the season. Podium-finisher at the San Marino Grand Prix, Holgado qualified in 11th while teammate Jacob Roulstone will have to start from 19th after missing out Q2 by a narrow margin.

Second fastest of the day on Friday, Daniel Holgado continued to show good form on Saturday as he qualified directly to Q2 with the 9th time of the combined practices. 13:15 marked the beginning of the fight for the pole position. After his first run, the #96 provisionally sat in 7th with a 1’40.791, with times very close to each other. With no further improvements made during the final run, Holgado took the 11th time of qualifying, and will start from row 4. Can he fight back to at least match his P2-finish from the San Marino GP?

Feeling a bit sore after his two crashes from Friday, Australian Jacob Roulstone fought through the pain on Saturday. With less time spent on track on Friday, the rookie had to catch up with the rest of the grid in Practice 2. His best lap in 1’42.024 placed him 22nd overall, meaning that he had to go through the pre-qualifying stage. As Q1 started, Jacob had done a great effort to clock in a 1’41.658 as he closed his group, sitting him provisionally in 4th, but we all know it, that spot is the most dangerous one, and a late push from Scott Ogden forced him to exit the qualifying spot, and finish 5th. The Australian will start the Gran Premio dell’Emilia-Romagna from P19 on the grid, as he looks to finish in the points.

Watch out! The Moto3™ race will be one hour ahead of the usual, at 10:00 local time (GMT+2), for 20 laps.

"Today was a good day for us, we did a good job with the team overall. The feeling on the bike has been really positive since yesterday. We will start from P11, but we have had a competitive pace all weekend so far, and I am more than ready to fight tomorrow! Thanks to the team for the amazing job.”

"Despite missing out on Q2, I am quite happy with our day considering yesterday. This morning, I tried to gain back the confidence on the bike, because we knew that we had a lot of work to do ahead of the qualifying. I tried to work on the points that the team advised me to improve, and I believe it was better, although we are still missing a bit. In qualifying, I think that I could have done a bit better as I felt held up by the riders at the front, but we are learning. The feeling heading to tomorrow's race is good. Also, I would like to thank my guys who rebuilt the bike twice yesterday, and worked very late into the night. Can't thank them enough.”
