Title

DANIEL HOLGADO

Early years

From Alicante in Spain, Daniel Holgado’s first time on a motorcycle was at 4 years old at the Alicante’s Circuit where his father used to take him to train and grow his potential day by day. At six years old, he started to compete in the Spanish Minimoto Championship and conquered the title of Spanish Champion in his first year. Excelling on two wheels, “Dani” quickly earned a reputation as a talented young rider and secured a place in the European Talent Cup in 2018, a series in which he was rewarded with a podium and an 11th place finish.

2020-2021: The ascension

The following year marked his debuts in the Moto3 class of the FIM CEV Repsol Championship, where he spent three seasons. His first season impressed as he finished sixth overall. In 2021, he moved to the Openbank Aspar Team and finished fifth of the championship, before exploding in 2021, at the end of which he was crowned Champion with five victories and three more top three finishes.  At the same time, he also achieved good results in the Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup, finishing 5th and 3rd in the 2020 and 2021 editions.

2022: Debuts in Moto3™

The Moto3™ Junior World Champion signed a deal with Red Bull KTM Ajo for 2022 as he made his debuts in the Moto3™ World Championship.  Although his rookie season was hampered slightly by a leg break in pre-season and for his sophomore campaign, he claimed his first pole position in Austria, and a first podium in Aragon. His 110 points placed him tenth in the World Championship.

2023-2024: The Tech3 adventure

In 2023, Dani made the switch to Red Bull KTM Tech3 and revealed himself as a serious title contender. He took his maiden Moto3™  win in the season opener, at the Portuguese Grand Prix, and added another two at the French Grand Prix in Le Mans and then in Mugello at the Italian Grand Prix, just two weeks later. In addition to these, he secured another four podiums that season. These strong and consistent results allowed him to lead te championship all the way until the Japanese GP, early October. Some unlucky moments allowed his rivals to come back and provide us with an intense title fight. Eventually that year, Jaume Masia was crowned champion in the penultimate round in Qatar. Holgado finished the season in fifth with a total of 220 points, the double of his rookie season.

In 2024, Daniel Holgado will remain with the south of France-based team, freshly renamed Red Bull GASGAS Tech3, for his third year in the lightweight class. He will keep his technical crew identical to the 2023, as he targets the big prize in the forthcoming season. He showed huge potential the previous season, and we are looking forward to seeing what the young Spaniard can achieve in 2024.
