#SanMarinoGP - September 6, 2024

The Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 Moto3™ squad was already back in action on Friday at the Gran Premio Red Bull di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini, with Daniel Holgado and Jacob Roulstone getting a first taste of the iconic Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. Still fresh from the Aragon Grand Prix last week, Holgado was amongst the fastest on the opening day, finishing 8th, and Roulstone closed his first day in P16.

After a disappointing P9-finish last Sunday at MotorLand, Daniel Holgado, now sitting 4th in the championship, was eager to make amendments in the San Marino leg, and score big points to remain in the top 3-fight for the world championship. Quickly, the Spaniard settled as one of the podium contenders, claiming P4 of Free Practice with a 1’41.561 (+0.386). In the afternoon’s Practice, the #96 continued to get the fast laps done, appearing confident with his bike setting. While times were very close, Holgado completed the day in 8th with an improved 1’41.316, just 0.407 seconds off the fastest lap of the day, the new all-time lap record at Misano in the category, set by Adrian Fernandez in 1’40.909.

Rookie Jacob Roulstone was also looking forward to this back-to-back rounds, after a very disappointing campaign in Aragón. New week, new goals, new set of mind! The Aussie appeared to find his marks rapidly on the Misano track, closing the opening session in the top 15 with a best in 1’42.475, with a late improved lap following some successful bike changes. Later on as the Moto3™ action resumed just after lunch time, the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 rider found room for improvements, and a late 1’41.687 placed the rookie 16th of Practice 1, with a fight for Q2 awaiting him on Saturday morning in Practice 2, as the action will resume at 8:40 local time (GMT+2).

"It was a very positive first day for us in Misano. We are feeling very well on the bike, I think that we already have a good idea of our bike setup, and the pace was competitive all day. We have an important day tomorrow, our goal is clearly to qualify well, but I am feeling confident, so let’s go!”

"I am quite happy with our opening day, the feeling on the bike was positive overall. We tried a slightly different bike setting in the final minutes of the morning session, and we kept it in P1. I felt more comfortable, but we made another change, which worked out very well for us. I am happy with the work we did today, I need a bit more to get closer to the top 10, but a positive first day for us so far!”
