The Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 Moto3™ team remained in Spielberg for another day following the Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich, as Daniel Holgado and Jacob Roulstone both participated in the Official Moto3™ Spielberg Test on Monday. Track conditions were not ideal, with some sessions disrupted by small rains throughout the day, preventing riders from practicing in either fully dry or wet conditions. The Moto3™ class shared the Red Bull Ring with the intermediate class, and were allowed four sessions, two of 55 minutes, one of 50 minutes, and a final one of 45 minutes.
Fresh from his third place from Sunday at the Austrian Grand Prix, Daniel Holgado was back on track for a key test of testing, as nine rounds remain in 2024 and a championship still open, with the Spaniard currently third in the riders’ standing. 10:00 am marked the start of the Moto3™ test, but this first session was slightly disrupted by a thin rain, one which wasn’t enough for the riders to ride in wet conditions, and not safe enough to ride in wet mode. Later on in session 2, conditions were much better, dry, and Holgado was able to complete the full session, with twenty-one laps done and best in 1’40.571. With the goal to continue getting more and more confidence and perfecting his bike, the Spaniard focused on getting the laps done, while making a few twists when needed. Feeling of the day was very positive with a good amount of information gathered heading to the next rounds. With a total of 45 laps and a fastest lap in 1'40.571. Holgado finished the test fifth overall.
Jacob Roulstone did his homework too at the Red Bull Ring on Monday, completing a total of 53 with a best lap in 1'40.931 With half of his rookie season done and already a good amount of experience in the category, this test was key for the Australian as he looked to develop more of his bike’s setting, now that he has got his hands around it. After missing out on the Official Moto3™ Jerez Test earlier in the year, it was also the first occasion for the rookie to test during the season. The day went well for the Australian as he focused on trying out different set ups, making some adjustments on his bike to help him feel better overall, as well as working on his own riding style. As small drops of rain disrupted the end of session 3, none of Jacob Roulstone and Daniel Holgado returned on track for the fourth and final session.
With a good amount of data gathered all together, the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 team is now looking forward to the next round in Aragon, from August 30th to September 1st.
