The Red Bull GASGAS Tech3’s Moto3™ squad kicked off their Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich campaign on Friday morning, with Daniel Holgado and Jacob Roulstone both closing day 1 of action in the top 14, with provisional Q2 tickets to defend on Saturday morning.
Daniel Holgado was back in full form this week in Austria after we saw him fighting again at the top in Silverstone two weeks ago. A fourth place was a good way to comeback from the summer break, and the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 rider was hungry for more on Pierer Mobility’s home turf. The #96 was second fastest of the opening session this morning, with a 1’40.573, just 0.242 seconds off the new all-time lap record broken by David Alonso. As track conditions got hotter in the afternoon’s Practice, Holgado did not improve his lap time as he worked on his race pace, but a 1’40.672 saw him ending day 1 in the top 10.
With a fresh new contract with Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 in 2025, Australian Jacob Roulstone was excited to arrive at the Red Bull Ring and make his debuts in Moto3™ on the Austrian layout. In the morning, the rookie took his marks, and a good teamwork with Daniel Holgado in the afternoon helped him make significant progress, and we saw him gaining back confidence on his bike. A 1’40.900 placed him P14 on Friday, with a Q2 ticket to defend as the Moto3™ action resumes tomorrow morning at 8:40 local time.
