#GermanGP - July 6, 2024

The Moto3™ class whistled the start of a busy Saturday at the Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland, but this time in quite hot conditions as the sun returned at the Sachsenring. In the morning’s Practice 2, a late crash of Daniel Holgado saw him missing out on Q2, but later on he made it to the final qualifying stage, and qualified in P13 on the grid. Directly qualified to Q2 after P2, rookie Jacob Roulstone got himself a 17th place on the grid.

As the action resumed early this morning, Daniel Holgado had a provisional Q2 seat to secure in Practice 2. He set a lap in 1'26.015 in his first run, but a crash towards the end of the session prevented him from improving his lap times, and we moved down to P16 in the combined practices. In the pre-qualifying stage, Holgado did the job that needed to be done with a late lap in 1'26.400 which qualified him for the final stage as he claimed second of Q1. As he joined the top 14 in Q2, the Spaniard rode his best in 1'25.811, a time that will see him start from thirteenth position on the grid tomorrow. The Sachsenring is a track that the #96 enjoys a lot, so let’s see if he can manage big points from his fifth row.

On the other side of the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 garage, there was Jacob Roulstone who did a solid Practice 2 this morning as his best in 1'25.512 saw him take the 10th spot in the combined practices, and head directly to Q2. Later on in the afternoon as the track got hotter and hotter, the fight for the pole was on. Jacob exited the pit box with his teammate Daniel Holgado as they tried to work together, but eventually he took the front to try setting his lap. He rode a best in 1'26.429, a time that will see him start from P17 tomorrow morning at 11:00 LT, as lights of the Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland go out!

"Not an easy day for us because there was something missing. The feeling was not great, I pushed a lot in qualifying, but we had some problems. We need to sort everything out tonight ahead of tomorrow, but we are ready to fight. Thanks to my team for their hard work."

"I am disappointed with the final result, but overall it was quite a productive day. In the morning, we continued to practice the race pace with different tyres options, we have positives and less positives, but overall I felt better than yesterday. I am heading to the race with a good feeling overall, we still need to make a final decision on the tyres choice, but we have a strong idea, so let’s put it all together tomorrow in the race.”
