#DutchGP - June 30, 2024

It was again an intense Moto3™ race that took place on Sunday at the iconic Cathedral of Speed, hosting the eighth round of the championship. From their respective fifteenth and twentieth positions on the grid, Red Bull GASGAS Tech3’s Daniel Holgado and Jacob Roulstone both finished in the points at the Dutch Grand Prix, with the #96 finishing in 11th, and the #12 in 14th.

From the fifteenth position on the grid, Daniel Holgado excited T1 in P13, which was not without a contact as another rider sneaked into the inside, but luckily the GASGAS Tech3 rider stayed on his wheels. In one lap, Holgado was already within the top 10, and quickly a rather big front group of fifteen riders made the gap, led by Ivan Ortola, with local boy Colin Veijer on the chase for home glory. Progressively, we saw the leading group become smaller, with ten riders having made the gap on the three behind, themselves having made the gap too on the rest. Dani held on his position between 8th and 11th all the way until the end, to finally see the checkered flag in P11. Small points scored for the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 rider who dropped to third in the riders championship, as Veijer’s second position saw him moving up to second, four points ahead of Holgado.

Australian rookie Jacob Roulstone was starting from P20 after a tricky qualifying on Saturday. The start was a bit messy as the young rider had to find his way through the traffic jam in the first corners. He exited lap 1 in P21 behind Nicolas Carraro, but the next lap, he gave an extra push, rode his fastest race lap in 1’41.397, a lap that powered him to P17. His first laps were competitive and fast, and we saw the rookie making an entry in the point-scoring positions from lap 3 as he sat in P14 behind Luca Lunetta. Still within the leading group after a few laps, we saw Jacob loosing a bit of ground with the top 13 after a contact with another rider. At the lead of the chasing group, there was a bit more than ten seconds to Joel Keslo in 13th after nine laps. The Aussie played out between the P14-P16 positions all the remaining of the race, keeping his pace consistent, and eventually he finished in P14, in the points. Points scored for both riders in Assen, and we will now focus on the next round in Sachsenring, next week!

Position: 11th

Championship: 3rd

"Our feeling was not great overall today, I pushed very hard at every lap, but that was not enough for us to fight for better positions. Very difficult race after a difficult weekend, but the good news is that we already have a new race week coming, and we will give our best to have a better weekend. Thanks to my team for their job!"

"It was a challenging weekend for sure, but I am satisfied to end it in points. I felt a day behind because Friday was not great, we struggled to feel good on the bike. Then I had quite high expectations of myself to make it to Q2 yesterday, but we did not and I was quite disappointed. However, we worked a lot with my crew last night, found some good things for today. The start was a bit tricky, but quickly I got my head down into a good pace and gained a few positions. I had contact in T2 with another rider and I lost contact with the group I was in, so I was at the front of the group, not feeling too confident with my pace, so I just focused on trying to stay at the front of that group. The pace was not competitive enough to catch back the other group, so I was just satisfied to come out first of this group at the end! Thanks to my team for their hard work this weekend!”

"A rather disappointing Moto3 race for us, because we knew that Daniel Holgado had a much better pace than his grid position as he took a yellow flag in qualifying during his fast lap. Today, he had a great start, he caught up with the front quickly with David Alonso, and he went up until P6 I believe in the front group. However, once he was in that front group, he could not keep up with them, and he stayed at the bottom of the group. P11 is not what we are expecting for Dani, but the gap to the first is quite close, which is not bad. We have lost some points in the championship, but we are heading to Germany, where we are strong, so hopefully we can recover our loss. The championship is wide open, and I think that it will go down to the wire this year! Jacob Roulstone did a strong rookie race, despite also having some issues in qualifying yesterday. He caught back positions too to finish in the points, which he always does, so we are proud of his weekend. Let's head to Sachsenring, we are eager to fight for top positions, and I have a good feeling that Dani could be fighting for the win next week!”
