#ItalianGP - June 1, 2024

The Moto3™ class kicked off a packed-action Saturday this morning at the iconic Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello with Red Bull GASGAS Tech3's Daniel Holgado and Jacob Roulstone facing the qualifying of the Gran Premio d’Italia Brembo. After both making it straight to Q2, Holgado and Roulstone respectively qualified in fifth and seventh on the grid, giving themselves good chances to fight for great results in Sunday's race, at 11:00 (GMT+2).

Spaniard Daniel Holgado was in seventeenth at the end of play on Friday, and needed to rectify the situation this morning to make it to Q2. He was able to improve his lap time to 1’55.489, and narrowly made it to the final stage of qualifying as he took thirteenth place. In the afternoon’s qualifying, Holgado’s early lap in 1’55.696 had him provisionally on row 3. In the final lap, the #96 gained a few thousandths in sectors 3 and 4 that allowed him to ride a last lap in 1’55.112, a time placing him in fifth on the grid. Taking a strong start to stick with the leading group will be key for Dani, as he looks to stay close to the championship leader, David Alonso, tomorrow’s pole sitter.

Continuing on his good form from Friday, Jacob Roulstone made significant progress this morning, improving his time by 1.089 seconds with a 1’55.208, as he sat in eighth in the combined practices, thus qualifying, another time, directly for Q2, a great achievement for the Australian rookie. As the sun continued to shine over Mugello setting the perfect stage for the fast laps, Jacob started the session a bit shy, but eventually in the final laps he pulled a great 1’55.209 to place himself in P7 on the grid. It is a great result for the Moto3™ rookie who will have his chances to fight with the leading group tomorrow, and why not target a maiden podium.

"We had a much better day than yesterday, we made a step with the bike and I felt much more comfortable on track. I am super happy with my team, because they are working hard to try to find solutions to my issues, and it is paying off. P5 is a decent position but we know that it will be a difficult race, it always is in Mugello. We will have to be smart, but I am ready to fight!"

Grid Position: 7

"This morning, we were able to do a good session, which has not been the case in the previous rounds, so I was pretty happy about it and it meant that we qualified straight for Q2. In qualy, we were doing a really good lap towards the end which placed us in P7, a great advantage for tomorrow. I would have loved to make it to row 2, but 7th is good, and in Mugello, anything can happen. I am heading to the race feeling very good, and if we make a good start, we can stick with the front group and maybe try to have a good result!”
