After a well deserved week off at home following an intense tour overseas, Red Bull KTM Tech3 travelled to Valencia in Spain for the ultimate race of the Moto3 championship, with both Deniz Oncu and Adrian Fernandez set to say goodbye to the team at the end of the weekend.
After a sixth position in 2020 and a P5 last season, Turkish Deniz Oncu will be eager to close his Tech3 chapter in the best way possible this weekend. Sporting a special helmet dedicated to his team, the young KTM rider was fifth fastest this morning with a best lap in 1’39.722. Later on, the goal of FP2 was to adjust the feelings on the bike in windy conditions. He finished the day in P11 and will look to set a fast lap on Saturday morning to guarantee a ticket into the final qualifying session.
Another home race was awaiting Spaniard Adrian Fernandez for the final round of the season. In the morning, he rode in 1’40.296 and was sixteenth, only 0.763 seconds away from the fastest rider. In the afternoon, despite the wind, he managed to take his lap time down to 1’39.996 and took the P13 of FP2. Fifteenth overall at the end of Friday, he will look to give an extra push on Saturday morning in order to make it to Q2 directly. The action will resume at 9:00 (GMT+1) tomorrow.

"The weather conditions are not ideal today as it has been quite windy, so we mostly focused on trying to get the good feelings. This is why in the afternoon, we only worked with used tyres. Tomorrow morning we will focus on the lap times and we will try to get a good position on the grid for the final race of 2022."

"I am really enjoying being here in Valencia surrounded by Spanish fans, so I enjoyed my ride today. I know this track, and the feeling has been quite good all day, despite the tricky weather conditions. It was very windy and I felt like I was taking off sometimes when entering certain corners, especially the 4th and 12th."
