Red Bull KTM Tech3’s Deniz Oncu and Adrian Fernandez returned to their KTM today for the final free practice session followed by the qualifying session. Both riders made a direct jump to Q2 at the quite windy but sunny MotorLand Aragon.

Eighth at the end of the first day, Turkish rider Deniz Oncu confirmed his form today as he led the way at the end of the combined free practice sessions thanks to his best lap in 1’57.261, 1.1884 seconds faster than Friday. In qualifying 2, it appeared that the rider encountered some technical issues which forced him to head back to his garage. Although his crew worked incredibly fast to allow Deniz to return on track, there was not enough time left, and his lap of 1’59.034 placed him thirteenth. Sunday will be a different story and the Turkish will aim to fight for the podium.

Teammate Adrian Fernandez continued his good work on Saturday. Already provisionally in Q2, the Spaniard secured his ticket to the final qualifying session at the end of the FP3 in P11 with a personal best of 1’58.78. In the afternoon, he did not manage to do a fast lap and will start the Gran Premio Animoca Brands de Aragón from the fifth row, in P15, when the lights go out at 11:00 (GMT+2) for nineteen laps.

"This morning we were really strong on the bike and I was the fastest. It is a great shame that I encountered a mechanical issue on the bike during qualifying this afternoon which prevented me from doing a fast lap. We will start tomorrow’s race from the fifth row, which is not the end of the world but is disappointing because we had potential to be in Parc Fermé today. The race will be another story, so I will give my best tomorrow."

"The feeling on both track and bike has been good all weekend so far. After a positive Friday, I felt good this morning too, improved my time and went straight into Q2. In the afternoon, I was unable to do a fast lap, but the most important thing is that I have a good pace this weekend. The focus is now completely on tomorrow’s race, I will give my best on Sunday."
