Red Bull KTM Tech3 kicked off the action of Round 15 of the Moto3 World Championship today at the MotorLand Aragon with Deniz Oncu and Adrian Fernandez both finishing the day with provisional Q2 spots.

After a few days off spent at home taking care of his injured shoulder, Turkish Deniz Oncu came back in form this week in Spain for the Gran Premio Animoca Brands de Aragón where he reached the podium in 2021. Despite some wind hitting occasionally the beautiful 5.077km layout during the two first free practice sessions of the weekend, Oncu finished the day eighth with a personal best of 1’59.149.

Set to race in front of his home crowd for the third time this season, Spaniard Adrian Fernandez had a very first good day in Aragon. Although in the morning he did not manage to go under the 2’, he improved in the afternoon as his time in 1’59.345 placed him twelfth of the day. He will have a provisional Q2 spot to defend tomorrow, when the Moto3 action resumes at 9:00 GMT (+2).

Deniz Öncü

Position: 8th

Time: 1'59.149

Laps: 31

"Today was a good day on track despite the wind in FP2 this afternoon. I like MotorLand Aragon a lot and had a good result here last year, so coming back feeling much better than two weeks ago in Misano is a positive point for me. I have been taking care of my shoulder at home, and the feelings were good today. Tomorrow we will continue to push and try getting a good spot on the grid."

Adrian Fernandez

Position: 12th

Time: 1'59.345

Laps: 29

"I had a good day on track and felt good on the bike, which is the most important. The position at the end of the day is promising, but I know that I will need to continue pushing tomorrow if I want to have a good qualifying session. Thank you to my team for their work today."
