Red Bull KTM Tech3’s Deniz Öncü displayed an impressive performance in today’s Gran Premio dell’Emilia Romagna e della Riviera di Rimini. Starting from 12th on the grid, the Moto3 rookie was fighting hard to keep up with the top, lost the contact a bit around half way through the race, but was recovering from 15th with each lap. In a clever way, he made up position by position to finally see the flag in a strong seventh place.

Following a tough Friday at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, Red Bull KTM Tech3’s Deniz Öncü made the most of the track time available this morning and lowered his fastest lap from yesterday by 0.670 seconds to conclude the Free Practice sessions in 19th overall. In Qualifying one, the Moto3 rookie did a fantastic time of 1:42.223 to secure P1, which made him passing through to Q2. In the second decisive session, he pushed hard again and finally did the 13th fastest lap time, which makes him start tomorrow’s eighth round of the 2020 season at 11:00 local time from the fifth row of the grid.

In bright Italian sunshine, Ayumu Sasaki started out the second Grand Prix at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli well inside the top 10 and with a fastest time of 1:42.277 the Japanese confirmed his provisional Q2 spot in FP2 this afternoon, although he had to sit out the first 15 minutes of the session due to a penalty from last weekend.
