Although the temperatures have been chilly again this morning, Red Bull KTM Tech3’s Deniz Öncü managed to do his quickest lap time of the weekend in FP3. With a 1:59.124 he improved by more than one second compared to his Friday’s best and secured a straight Q2 entry. In the all-important Qualifying, the Moto3 World Championship rookie landed in 15th and will therefore start from the fifth row.

After he struggled to improve in this morning’s cold FP3, Ayumu Sasaki delivered an amazing performance in Q1. With a strong lap time of 1:58.744 he snatched second and restarted confidently in Qualifying two. Not finding his ideal place in the busy second Qualifying, Sasaki was unable to lower his personal best and concluded the day in P18. The Japanese youngster will line up in row six for tomorrow’s 11th round of the 2020 season at 12:00 local time.

"We improved a lot today compared to Friday. At the same time, I have to admit, that I didn’t play my cards well in Qualifying, so we have to start from P15 tomorrow. I hope I can make up for the mess in Qualifying during the race tomorrow. I’ll definitely try my best as always."

Ayumu Sasaki

Position: 18th

Time: 1:59.949

"It was a difficult FP3 and we came back well in Q1. In Q2, I messed up. I had a plan, but made a mistake on the first lap in Q2 and everything went wrong. We couldn’t do the lap time, we hoped for, after we managed to go more than a second quicker in Q1. I have to admit, that I’m very disappointed, but we need to focus for tomorrow. We know we need to start well and try to get out the maximum."
