Following a strong display in Qualifying yesterday to start from the third row of the grid, Ayumu Sasaki concluded the home round for Red Bull KTM Tech3 with a fantastic sixth position. After losing some places on the opening lap, the Japanese youngster mounted back from 10th to 6th in the first half of the race, but then had to avoid another rider and lost ground again. With strong lap times throughout the 22 laps, he managed to fight back up to sixth on the line, bringing home his personal best of 2020.

Red Bull KTM Tech3’s Ayumu Sasaki jumped from P24 to P7 in the combined practice times this morning at the end of a sunny FP3. With this the Japanese youngster qualified directly for Q2 and continued his upward trend in the short important session at lunchtime today. On his final lap, Sasaki did a 1:41.982, which is his fastest lap time this weekend and made him land in seventh, which means third row and his best starting position so far this season.

Red Bull KTM Tech3’s Deniz Öncü secured a provisional Q2 spot today after he faced a challenging start to the French Grand Prix this morning. In wet conditions, the Turkish Moto3 World Championship rookie was fighting to find a decent feeling, but managed to improve significantly during this afternoon’s second session, in which the track was drying. He concluded Friday in P12, which means he sits in a great position ahead of FP3 tomorrow morning at 9:00 local time.
